Explore 3L: The Waterproof Fabric

What dreams (our waterproof rain jackets) are made of.

THE WATERPROOF FABRIC

You might have noticed that we use the term “3L” to describe many of our jackets. 3L, if you were wondering, means 3 layers. Here’s a breakdown of what exactly that means:

Every rain jacket with 3 layered fabrics has fully taped seams. This ensures that water does not penetrate through the seams (aka, get you wet). Each layer acts as extra protection for top tier performance and security. DWR (durable water resistance) is a topical application so water beads off fabric. We use PFAS-free DWR on all of our fabrics - no harmful “forever chemicals” on you, or throughout our production process.

OUR THREE PILLARS:

FUNCTIONALITY: First, it must perform in the elements. We perform many tests at the mill, garment manufacturer, and in-house in order for them to be approved.

♺ SUSTAINABILITY: If it isn’t the lowest impact option to the earth available for us- we don’t want it. Sourced and certified from premium mills.

QUALITY / AESTHETICS: Each fabric is chosen to meet a contemporary aesthetic with premium durability- whether it’s the hand feel or weight, we blend everyday wear with tech.

Our fabrics are certified with: Bluesign®, GRS (Global Recycled Standard), Higg Index, OEKO-TEX®. For more information on our sustainability initiatives and supply chain, see here.
